Medical Assistant – Full Time
Psychiatric Consultants of Central Florida is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and compassionate, with the ability to work in a fast-paced mental health setting while providing excellent administrative and patient support.

Position Overview
The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to assigned psychiatric Mental Health Professionals. This role involves direct coordination with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare organizations. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities

Manage daily client caseload for assigned providers

Receive and triage incoming calls and messages from patients

Accurately document voicemails, patient communications, and provider orders
-
Escalate crisis or safety-related calls immediately to the provider
-
Coordinate medication refills, prescriptions, and e-prescribing as directed
-
Communicate with pharmacies and insurance companies as needed
-
Assist with prior authorizations and medication forms
-
Work with pharmaceutical representatives to maintain sample inventory
-
Follow proper medication handling and disposal procedures
-
Provide front desk support including check-in, scheduling, and paperwork
-
Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional confidentiality standards

Support the clinic with general administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications Required:

High School Diploma or GED
-
Minimum of 3 years previous medical or healthcare experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly

Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail

Dependable, professional, and team-oriented​

Preferred:

Medical Assistant Diploma, AAS, or certification

Bilingual – Spanish preferred

Experience in psychiatry, mental health, or behavioral health settings

Experience with e-prescribing and prior authorizations
